Remastered for your pleasure

Paul’s Boutique is one of my favorite rap albums.  It simply could not be made today.  And to my ear, it is one of the last great albums that needed to be remastered.  The original release sounds fantastic.  Listen to the intro to “Hey Ladies” on a decent stereo–about 10 seconds in, a palm muted guitar adds another layer that flips the soundstage from Pan-and-Scan to Panavision. It’s one of my favorite things to listen to on a good sound setup.

There have always been complaints that the album needs to be remastered because it’s too quiet.  To those people:  go to hell.  Buy an amplifier for your piece of crap OEM car stereo.

This album didn’t need to be remastered.

I will buy it anyway.
